ANAND WINS AMBER CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP
V. Anand won the 12th Amber blindfold and rapid chess tournament defeating BUlgarian Veselin Topalov 1.5-0.5 in the 11th and fianl round at Monte Carlo on March 27. This is a Anand's third title in this unique tournament that has one blindfold and one rapid game in each round. The Indaian ace had earlier won the championship in 1997 when he won all the three titles at stake- Rapid, Blindfold and combined, and in 1994.
CHESS INCLUDED IN ASIAN GAMES
Chess has finally been included in the Asian Games, opening avenues for India to bag an extra gold medal and establish themselves as the most formidable chess power in the continent. Chess will mark its debut in the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar a, as one of the 33 discilplines.
