Information Technology is emcompassing all walks of life all over the world. New comunication systems and digital technologyhave made a dramatic changes in the way we live. A revolution is occuring in the way people transact business. Business and consumers are increasingly using computers to create, transmit and store confidential data of political, social, ecomomic or personal nature bring immense benefit to the society.

Globally internet and computer based commerce and communications cut across territorial boundaries, thereby creating a new realm of human activity and undermining the feasibility and legitimacy of applying laws based on geographic boundaries.

This new boundary which is made up of screens and passwords, separate the 'cyber world' from 'real world'. Anyone who has access to a computer and telephone network is free to get hooked to the internet. They can commicate in secrecy via encrypted messages, use virtually private network leaving no trace of telephone communications made between the operatives. It is the scope of anonymity avilable to net users which often lead to computer crimes.

Cyber crime is a generic term that refers to all criminal activities done using the medium of computers, the internet cyberspace and worldwideweb. Cyber crimes may be broadly classified in the folloeing groups.

Studies have shown that 60% of all websites are sexual in content. 20% of them solicited their visitors, 13% went voluntarily and the rest were pictorially lured. An estimated 1,00,000pornographic websites generate revenues in the region of billion dollar annually. The increasing popularity of chat rooms and the vulnerability of personal data to criminal access makes women and children the easiest target for a large range of culpable crimes.

Childrens are victimised by pedophiles who are no longer lonely and hunted individuals. Young people are exposed to pornographic, hateful and violent literature, harassement, exploitation and spurious job rackets.

Cyber stalking happens when a person is followed and persued online privacy invaded and evry move watched. Cyber stalking usually occurs with women, who are stalked by men or children who are stalked by pedophiles. A cyber crime is generally not preceded by motive, the time zones can be different and crime cannot be pinpointed to a particular hour. The crime could originate in one continent and target victim in an other part of the world.

Investigators find that data can be easily destroyed while clinching evidence is difficult to collect from voluminous weblogs network and hard dick content.

The term 'Cyber Law' in general refers to all legal and regulatory aspects of internet. It means that anything concerned with, related to, or emanating from any legal aspects or issues concerning any activity of netizens and others in cyber space comes within the ambit of cyber law, cyber law can be defined as a law governing the use of computer and internet.
