ROMANIA Romania is among the new and emerging destination for Indian students to pursue higher education abroad. Presently about 500 students are studying in Romania primarily in the field of medicine, pharmacy and dentistry. The uniqueness of Romanian education is that is that it has a blend of tradition and modernity, vitality and performance, a perfect equilibrium between the theoretical and practical aspects of education. There are both public and private higher education institutions in Romania. They comprise research institutions, universities, institutes, academies, conservatories and university colleges. Apart from medicine and pharmaceuticals studies, courses in dentistry, informatics, architecture, fine arts, mathematics, oil and gas, veterinary medicine, music and fine arts are popular among students. Education in Romania is under the umbrella of law. Romania signed the Convention on the recognition of Qualification concerning Higher Education in European Region (Lisbon 1997) and at the same time it is part of the Bologna process concerning the implementation of the common European Higher area. Through commitments assumed at the European level, Romanian higher education ensures the academic and professional acceptance of the graduate all over the world. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers yearly one or two scholorship on recommendation of the competent Indian authorities |
