GERMANY German Universities offer an outstanding variety of courses, excellent research opportunities and are well known for their high quality of teaching. More than 200,000 foreign nationals are currently studying at Germany institutions of higher educations, however, merely 2.1 % of them are Indians. Introdcution of more than 1,600 internationally recognised UG and PG courses condcuted in English, specially in the field of engineering, environment and other sciences, IT and management, has given a clear boost to foreign students. Remarkably the financial aspect add to the attractiveness of Germany as a prime destination. The Tution fee for education is borne by the German state and the students just have to pay for their living expenses. There are several non-academic benefits as well. Germany offers a regional diversity, vast cultural and architectural heritage and specially in univertsity towns, a social life which mirrors the global village young academics are starving for. New scholarship schemes leading to a PhD have been introduced for Indian students who want to do research at one of the Leibniz Reaserach Institutes, Germany. In addition, Deutsche Post World Net, a leading German multinational company, is offering scholorship cum internships for Indian MBA students, with a focus on supply chain management.
