Before commencing this series of discussions and talks, I should like to make one important note, by way of clearing the ground of a possible source of misconception. The idea seems to be prevalent that ASTROLOGY teaches FATALISM. Those however, who have studied the subject from the deeper stand point know that it does not teach (absolute) fatalism. We are not utterly bound, neither on the other hand, are we entirely free. We are limited and restrained by IGNORANCE. All our misfortunes are the result of imperfect knowledge, had we complete knowledge, ''FATE'' would have no power on us. Had we but a little more knowledge even there would be so much the less misfortune.

Hence I contend that by a knowledge of ASTROLOGY which is a science of life we may avoid many of our troubles. It will be a object in the ensuing talks to indicate how this may be done. The word ASTRO-LOGY means " THE WISDOM " or " THE MESSAGE OF THE STARS " There are two aspects of this science; the exoteric and the esoteric. The side of ASTROLOGY which we call exoteric may be styled as Fatalism, fortune telling, what you will but the esoteric ASTROLOGY is that which reveals the SOUL of the science, its devine aspect and whole of that can never be expressed in words.

Reasons, thought, and experience constitute the basis apon which the system adopted in the present talk is built. The ripened fruit of many years toil and practice is here offered to those who are sufficiently thirsty for the knowledge that Astrology brings to mankind. The main object of these series of talks being to satisfy the demand of our society for more lights.
